Portrait
Drawing exercise from class - a rendition of a George Segal portrait. Although I had no idea what I was drawing at the time. It was only at the end of class when the teacher asked us to flip our paper over that we discovered we had actually drawn a person's face. Amazing what can happen when you don't name things.

Still Life
Drawing practice with fruit. So much comes up for me when I draw. Lots of anxiety and stress. I feel I cannot possibly do the assignment and then out it comes. I have faith in this process, even though it exposes all of the insecurities I have around creativity. How many of us have buried our creativity in order to grow up and survive in a world that often seems hostile to our playfulness?

Meditation Retreat
After participating in a 7 day long meditation retreat at Green Gulch Farm Zen Center, I realized I had become very attached to my tea and coffee schedule.
